Cole was for some years a Chartered Occupational Psychologist (British
Psychological Society) specialising in careers counselling, assessment and human-computer interaction.
He holds two masters degrees, in psychology and in computer science. Also a fully qualified careers
adviser, his books include The Guidance Handbook (for training careers guidance practitioners) and Practical
Computerised Statistical Testing.
